SATURDAY, AUGUST 24th, NOMADIC PICÓ 2.0, BOSTON
[Photo: Ernesto Morales, full set from last year’s event here]
Nomadic Picó Picante 2.0 lives this weekend, with the support of The Boston Foundation’s Expressing Boston initiative! This year we’re teaming up with community partners the Boston Cyclists Union, Egleston Square Youth Center (YMCA), Villa Victoria Center for the Arts, A program of IBA- Inquilinos Boricuas En Accion and the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway to host stops along the route, promote a larger cross-section of community engagement and use global dance music as a catalyst to explore the city’s diversity.
A huge plus of having a pre-charted route is the capacity to invite DJs from different communities across Boston to play at the stops. Riverport DJ of El Salvador joins us with a pan-Latin mix of bachata, tribal Ecuador (yess) and Latin house, El Canito Maravillosa with freestyle, salsa, merengue and boogaloo and DJ Kid Afrik with makossa, ndombolo, funana, zouk, hiplife and more.
All love 2 Ethan, Ling and Ricardo for putting in the blood sweat & e-mails to make this happen.
Various stops across Boston, 2:30 - 9 PM, full details on Facebook
